Most Common ATK Standalone Mode Issues:

This can occur for several reasons.  The main reasons include:

  1. Your FMM module does not have power.  Make sure the status light on your FMM is solid blue.  If not confirm, there is power on the outlet the power supply is plugged into.
  2. Your FMM is in an alarm state.  Confirm this by checking the FMM module.  If it is solid red and emitting an alarm noise, then power cycle the FMM to clear the alarm condition.
  3. If your ATK has filled within the last hour, then it will not operate again for another hour.  The ATK is designed to only fill once an hour.  If you remove the power to your FMM, then re-apply it the PMUP should begin operation immediately.
  4. Your PMUP is not connected to your FMM module.  If the light on your FMM is green, then the PMUP should be operating.  If the light is green and the PMUP is connected, then consult the PMUP FAQ Section.

Check to make sure that optical sensor 1 is connected to port 1 on your FMM module and optical sensor 2 is connected to port 2 on your FMM.  If you have additional sensors connected to ports 3 and 4, then remove those and please see the optional sensor FAQ.

There are several reasons this could be true, but the most common reasons include:

    1. The IQ-Fill alarm has been activated.  The FMM module will be emitting a long beep if so.  IQ-Fill is an intelligent learning algorithm that, ongoing, monitors and records how much water your aquarium needs for each fill and calculates a maximum run time.  The maximum run time is three times the normal running time of your PMUP.  Some reasons IQ-Fill could become active is the ATO reservoir is empty or optical sensor 1 is not connected to the FMM module.  To reset IQ-Fill, simply power cycle the FMM module. After power cycling, the maximum run time will be 5 minutes until there have been enough refills to relearn your aquarium’s filling behavior.
    2. The optional optical sensor in your reservoir is not covered and it there are four beeps emitting from the FMM.   Be sure that the ATK reservoir is filled.

This occurs because the ATK reservoir water level is above the water level in the  sump.  We have included an optional siphon break in the ATK.  This should be installed immediately or the ATK reservoir position should change in order to not have its water level above the sump water level.
