Reporting to our QA Manager, this person will spend a great deal of their time testing our products and software to make sure it is ready for prime time. THIS IS AN EXPERIENCED LEVEL POSITION WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FOR GROWTH. Pay is based on skill set and conducted evaluations upon your interview. Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality control tests in the lab.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports for new product development
  • Construct test fixtures for new product testing
  • Test equipment set-up and management
  • Assist engineers in development and testing of prototypes or new processes
  • Support manufacturing operations including troubleshooting and resolving issues with equipment, devices, or materials.

Requirements:

  • Saltwater aquarist –  3 or more years experience is a definite plus
  • Willingness to constantly learn new things
  • Good analytic and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and IP addressing
  • Skilled with basic hand tools
  • Familiarity with Neptune Systems products and APEX Fusion a BIG plus

This position does require saltwater aquarium knowledge and experience and the position is in our Morgan Hill office.

 Neptune Systems has a great opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to be involved in the design of cutting edge IoT technologies applied to the aquarium world. Tired of positions where you only get to have your hands on a small subset of a product – well at Neptune Systems you are part of a small engineering team so you get to see the first-hand the results of your hard work, and know your contributions were a big part of the success.

Responsibilities:

  • Design PCB’s and system components for aquarium monitoring and control products
  • Design embedded AVR and ARM microprocessor systems
  • Perform troubleshooting of monitoring and control systems
  • Assist in design of test fixtures and prepare documentation for release to manufacturing

Requirements:

  • BS EE and > 5 years experience in product development
  • Altium schematic and PCB layout experience a plus
  • Understanding of electrical circuit fundamentals, analog & digital, serial data communication
  • Familiar with operation of test equipment, oscilloscopes, DVM’s, function generators, spectrum analyzers
  • Experience with micro-controller programming (C, and C++)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Quality-driven. Committed to meeting schedules, able to balance performance & time constraints
  • Excellent documentation skills

Our preferred candidate is someone with a passion for BOTH Saltwater Aquariums AND all things technical. This technical knowledge should include familiarity with PC/Mac configuration and home networking concepts. Most of all, this person MUST be self-motivated, customer-focused, and have a passion for customer satisfaction. This is a critical and high-profile role in the company as this individual will have direct contact with our customers, solving their problems, and helping them get the most out of their Neptune Systems’ products.

The typical work day consists of providing superior phone-based customer support, email support, helping set up networking and configuration of our products, and handling warranty and RMA issues.

This position will be based in Morgan Hill, CA. Compensation will be based on experience and we will propose a relocation assistance program for the right candidates. Experience and Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
• High School Degree
• Experience with PC/Mac configuration and home networking
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Customer empathy (can put yourself in customers shoes)
• Must have excellent “people-skills” even when dealing with difficult people and stressful situations
• Able to think and reason in an analytic fashion
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
