Trident Reagent Replacement: Preface

In this guide it will be illustrated how to replace reagents one at a time once their supply has been exhausted.

The best way to do this is to use the tasks associated with reagent replacement.  There are two tasks associated with reagent replacement.  The task titled as “Trident Reagent A Replacement” will only replace reagent A.  The task tilted as “Trident Reagent Replacement” will replace reagent A, B and C.

This guide will illustrate how to replace reagent A, but the same principles will apply if reagent B or C need to be replaced.

Remove Empty Reagent

..

  1. Open the reagent drawer
  2. Unscrew the reagent A intake assembly
  3. Place the intake assembly to the side of the tray
  4. Remove reagent A bottle and pour its contents down the drain

DO NOT pour any left over contents into the new reagent bottle.  Mixing reagents will contaminate the new reagent.

Add Full Reagent

.

  1. Shake the new bottle of reagent A.
  2. Remove the cap from the bottle and place the bottle in the reagent tray.
  3. Screw the (red) reagent A intake assembly onto the new bottle.

Close Reagent Drawer

Close the Trident reagent drawer, taking special care to guide the reagent lines appropriately.

It is possible the reagent intake assembly lines can become kinked when closing the drawer if special care is not taken to guide the intake assembly lines.

Reset Reagent Levels

Now is a great time to empty the waste container, so please do that.  After emptying the waste container:

  1. Click on the configuration gear on the Trident
  2. Select “Configure Trident”
  3. Select “Reset”
  4. Select “Reagent A” and “Waste”
  5. Send the Update to Apex Fusion

Prime Reagent

.

  1. Select Prime
  2. Select Reagent A
  3. Send the update to Apex Fusion

The Trident will turn “blue” indicating that it is priming the reagent A and completes the reagent replacement process.
