Updating your Radions Firmware to 1.7.8

If your Radions were manufactured before OCT 2014 please follow these steps below.

Now that we have everything on the Apex side up to date it’s time to update your EcoTech Radion lights.

If you have a version of the connection manger already installed, please open it and select “switch account” to sign out of ESL.   Then close that connection manager.

Install the EcoTech Connection Manager

1. Please download and extract the special EcoTech Connection Manager for your computer.  Note: If you already have a version of the connection manager on your computer, then you must download this versions here (Do not install yet!). Please be sure to Save-As.

WINDOWS | MAC

2. Next Download the most up to date Radion FW (1.7.8). Click Here

3. Now install the connection manager. Be sure to overwrite your other connection manager and say “Yes to All”

4. DO NOT Enter your ESL credentials during the installation.

5. Complete the connection manager installation.

Update the Radion with Firmware 1.7.8 w/ the Connection Manager

1. Connect your Radion Light to the USB port on your computer using the supplied cable from EcoTech Marine

2. Now we will update the firmware. Click on the EcoTech Connection Manger Icon on your toolbar/taskbar.  Select USB Radion then Firmware Update.

3. This will open a box that will allow you to select a FW file.  Press select and navigate to the 1.7.8 FW that you downloaded.

NOTE: If ‘select’ is grayed out, then be sure to sign-out of your ESL account.

4. Once you select the 1.7.8 FW the Radion FW update will begin.  It will take about 1-3 minutes.

5. When the firmware update is complete you will see the result of ‘Firmware process completed successfully’ displayed in the update.  NOTE: If it says “failure” just allow the connection manger to restart your Radion.  Eventually it should come up and say complete.

*Disconnect the EcoTech Marine USB cable.  If you have additional Radions please repeat this process for each of them.

6. Complete the firmware update successfully.
