With Trident testers regularly testing alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium (Trident) and phosphate, nitrate (Trident NP) in your saltwater aquarium — and then communicating this information to your Apex, you can set alerts, manage dosing, or adjust equipment or behavior to improve stability and consistency. When combined with the DOS QD dosing pump (available separately) you can fully automate dosing of supplements, and additives for improved water parameter management.

When you start receiving regular data from the Trident you will be amazed at the things you can see happening. For example you may notice the impact that the daily light cycle has on calcium carbonate uptake. You may realize that a salinity drop is occurring by watching your magnesium levels. You may even be better able to align calcium dosing with its use in the aquarium. This increased understanding ultimately helps you maintain a better, more successful reef.
Automate Your Dosing with Trident and DŌS
The more stable your aquarium levels, the better your corals will grow and thrive. Your tank however is continually evolving and the need for different additives and buffers can change rapidly, and may leave your dosing out of sync.
The Trident, when paired up with one or more of our DŌS systems solves this problem with Automatic Dosing Control (ADC). ADC will take results from the Trident and use them to gradually adjust what the DŌS delivers. Safeguards protect your aquarium from errors in the readings by measuring change against dosing, and dosing will only adjust +/-35% per adjustment, Failure to log change will shut down the auto tune, notify you and revert to original dosing levels
